v 1. собирать: to gather smb, smth — собирать кого-либо, что-либо; 2. собираться Русскому собирать соответствуют глаголы to gather, to collect, to raise, to pick, to save, различающиеся по характеру действия и ситуациям употребления. Глагол to pick в этом значении ограничен в употреблении небольшой группой существительных — berries, flowers, mushrooms и предполагает собирание единичных предметов один за другим, отделяя их как часть от чего-то большего, целого:to pick fruit (собирать, срывая каждый плод с дерева),
to pick berries (собирать, срывая по ягодке с куста),
